Here are some ways to be a part of the new Court Square Theater Collective
Join the Board
Do you want to help develop the culture within the Court Square Theater. Do you have a passion for leadership and vision planning tied with a get it done attitude? Do you know someone else who has these skills? We want to get to know you/them! The Steering Committee is looking for nominations for members to join the Board of Directors of the Court Square Theater Collective

What Makes Up The Collective?
The Performance
The Board
The Members
The theater comes to life when art hits the stage. Art comes in so many different forms: music, dance, film, song, movies, plays, comedy, drag and more.Â
Providing essential governance and oversight, these leaders maintain the theater’s integrity. They manage financial health, authorize seasonal programming, curate venue offerings, and handle regulatory compliance. Beyond logistics like bill payments, they ensure our mission flourishes and our digital presence remains vibrant and current.
Members are local non-profit organizations, businesses, artists, individuals, and sponsors who want to have access to repeated use of the theater for ongoing programing throughout the year. They are also businesses and individuals who just want to make sure the theater doors stay open and operations continue to run smoothly by being sustaining sponsors throughout the year. Membership comes in many forms and we would love to have you join us. More information will be available soon regarding how to become a member of the collective.

HRHA
History has told us that the Court Square Theater is important to this community. Without you showing up and continuing to support the theater we would not be able to exist. When the theater was at risk of closing it's doors, HRHA wanted to hear from you and what you envisioned for the future of this space. What we heard was that you wanted to continue to see the theater be a home for all sorts of varied art forms ranging from small ensembles to sold out shows to touring groups and everything in between.
We expect to start out with 1 staff member with hopes to grow! Many programming within the space will rely on volunteers. Please complete the volunteer interest form above if you are interested in getting involved at the theater. Job posting for our House Manager will be available soon.Â
Harrisonburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority owns the Court Square Theater. We are merely it's caretakers. Any donations given to HRHA on behalf of court square theater will go towards covering the utilities and upkeep of the building. Â
